Teen Connections Facilitators
We currently operate our Teen Connections group in two locations, West Bend, Kewaskum, and Hartford. This is a structured support group for teens with mental health concerns. We are in need of volunteers with educational or mental health therapy background to help facilitate this once a week group. There is an alternating schedule so that we do not need a weekly commitment. Contact us for more information.
The Welcome Facilitator helps us provide a welcoming and supportive environment for our visitors from the community as well as provides resource information to anyone calling our office.
The position should appeal to anyone who may consider themselves a leader and a people person. There are opportunities to meet and greet community members as they inquire about our organization and services. If you are so inclined, there's always a chance while your volunteering to join in a card game, puzzle activities, grab some great snacks, or find other social engaging activities we have going on during our drop in center open hours.
The duties would include:
Opening/Closing our NAMI Welcome Center during open times.
Provide resource information to visitors as well as give tours of our facilities. Receptionist type duties.
Visit with any guests that may be using our drop in center service.
Opportunities to be a role model and mentor while being mindful of recovery principals.
We are looking for a volunteer that would be available between 10:00-2:00 any weekday. Scheduling is flexible. We are working on setting up a rotating schedule with volunteers so as to allow more flexibility for volunteers.
Social Media Guru
NAMI Washington County is seeking a person who is knowledgeable and skilled in the use of social media communications to work with the organization to develop a social media strategy and assist with the training and implementation of the plan.
Monthly Outing Volunteer Opportunity
The Monthly Outing program is exactly what it sounds like. Each month, a group from our drop in center go on an outing. Examples of places we have gone include: Ice Age Visitor Center, Meadowbrook pumpkin farm, and Shalom Wildlife Zoo. This trip can be planned for any time of the month.
Duties for leading this program consist of:
Planning the trip and details (ex. how many members can come while staying within the budget), what supplies you will need (if any)
Figuring out transportation arrangements (if participants will help to carpool), if the City/County Taxi needs to be used (this would come out of the budget)
Pick a date/time for the trip
Notifying the Program Development Coordinator of trip details so that flyers can be made for distribution.
A camera or phone cam is a must. A photo album for the trips is maintained at the center. If you have a smartphone, I do have a selfie-stick that can be used!
Have a great time on the trip! We have had so many enriching experiences so far and it has truly been amazing.
